Pune, 23rd September 2024: The Wings of Joy Carnival 2024, hosted yesterday at Raheja Vista Premiere, NIBM, Pune, provided a heartwarming and inspiring platform for special needs children to showcase their talents and build confidence. The event, held from 3 to 7 pm on Sunday, 22nd September, attracted families from across the region for a day of celebration, inclusive activities, and joyful performances.

Designed to empower children with special needs, many of whom rarely get the opportunity to perform in front of an audience, the carnival featured a variety of activities that encouraged self-expression, confidence-building, and fun. In partnership with Decathlon, the event offered engaging indoor games, archery, ball sports, and a lively Zumba session, ensuring that every child could participate and enjoy the festivities. A caricature artist, lucky dips, lucky draws, and a photo booth added to the carnival’s funfair atmosphere.

One of the event’s highlights was the much-anticipated Ramp Walk, where children dressed up and confidently performed short walks and dances on stage to the cheers of an enthusiastic audience. For many, it was their first time performing in such a setting, and the event aimed to provide a positive and encouraging experience to help boost their self-esteem.

The carnival also included the prestigious “Star Achiever of the Year” Award ceremony, recognizing children who have demonstrated remarkable progress throughout the year. This award not only celebrated the children’s accomplishments but also honored the tireless efforts of their parents, whose support plays an essential role in their child’s development.

One of the standout moments of the evening was when Yogansh Dwivedi, a young boy who traveled all the way from Rajasthan to attend, was honored as a Star Achiever. Yogansh, who has been undergoing therapy at Wings since he was six months old, has made significant strides in his development. Having started therapy unable to sit independently, he is now walking—a testament to the dedication of both Yogansh and his parents.

Adding to the event’s charm was a special performance by students from Aashayein, a school for special needs children that shares Wings of Joy’s mission of empowerment. Their vibrant and energetic performances delighted the audience and underscored the incredible talent and potential within every child.

The Wings of Joy Carnival 2024 was a resounding success, delivering an important message: every child, regardless of their abilities, deserves the opportunity to shine. With plans to continue organizing such events in the future, the Wings team remains committed to providing platforms for special needs children to showcase their talents and thrive.

The carnival would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the Wings team, including Dr. Pranali, Dr. Surbhi, Dr. Virti, Dr. Ashwini, and Dr. Priti, whose hard work and commitment to the cause were pivotal in making the event a reality.
