Pune Police Arrest Three Notorious Criminals for Armed Dacoity in Balewadi Within Two Hours

Balewadi, 21st September 2024: Pune Police have arrested a group of thieves involved in an armed dacoity within just two hours. In the Balewadi area, around 8-9 individuals arrived on three two-wheelers, assaulted a shop owner and his four employees with iron weapons, and stole cash and goods worth Rs 69,000. Three individuals have been arrested.

Chaturshringi Police have arrested Alim aka Allya Sikandar Sayyad (resident of Aundh), Dev aka Deva Kakasaheb Shirole (resident of Kasba Peth), and Mohan Arun Adagale (resident of Aundh). Additionally, five juveniles were also involved in the crime. A case has been registered against them under Sections 310 (2) (dacoity) and 311 (robbery or dacoity with an attempt to cause grievous hurt or death), along with relevant sections of The Arms Act of 1959 and the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951.

According to police reports, around 5:30 PM yesterday at Viraj Automobiles and Washing Centre in Balewadi, a group of 8-9 individuals arrived on three two-wheelers and began assaulting the owner and four to five of his friends who were seated in the shop. They stole Rs 49,000 in cash and a mobile phone worth Rs 20,000, totalling Rs 69,000. The owner, Siddheshwar Digambar Dhere (34, a resident of Balewadi), filed a complaint at Chaturshringi Police Station.

Officials visited the crime scene, reviewed nearby CCTV footage, and questioned witnesses. The Detection Branch (DB) of Chaturshringi Police Station received confidential information that notorious criminal Allya Sayyad, along with Adagale and Shirole, were responsible for the crime. After tracking their whereabouts, police set a trap in Pimple Gurav and arrested eight suspects. They confessed to committing the crime for money. Assistant Police Inspector Narendra Patil is continuing the investigation.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Pune City Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police (East) Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Khadki Division) Anuja Deshmane.

The team, led by Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Balkotgi and Police Inspectors (Crime) Yuvraj Nandre and Vijayanand Patil, included Assistant Police Inspector Narendra Patil, Police Sub-Inspector Pranil Chougule, and Police Constables Dushing, Waghawale, Dangade, Durge, Momin, Vishal Shirke, Shridhar Shire, Mane, Bhangale, Kharat, and Tarange.
