Pune: Grand Procession by Students in Tribute to Prophet Muhammad

Pune, 20th September 2024: A grand procession was held today by the Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society (Azam Campus) and its affiliated institutions to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Eid-e-Milad). The procession was inaugurated at 8:30 AM by Dr. P.A. Inamdar, President of the society and Chancellor of Dr. P.A. Inamdar University.

Students participating in the procession carried placards highlighting the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, with a focus on social justice and environmental conservation. The procession traveled through several key areas of Pune, promoting educational, social, and environmental awareness.

Several prominent figures from the society, including Secretary Prof. Irfan J. Shaikh, S.A. Inamdar, Sabir Shaikh, Mashkur Shaikh, Asif Shaikh, Afzal Khan, Wahab Shaikh, Babloo Sayyed, Shahid Shaikh, along with teachers, non-teaching staff, students, and parents, joined in large numbers.

The route of the procession started from Azam Campus and passed through Deccan Muslim Institute, Try Luck Hotel, Kohinoor Hotel, Bata Chowk, Sarbatwala Chowk, Quarter Gate, Padamji Police Chowki, Nishat Theatre, Bhagwandas Chawl, Chudaman Talim, and Poonah College, before concluding back at Azam Campus.

This year marked the 20th anniversary of this tribute procession. The Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society organizes similar events every year to honor great personalities like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Prophet Muhammad, aiming to spread their social and educational messages to the wider public.
