Four Minors Detained in Pune for Knifepoint Robbery; Goods Worth Rs 2.68 Lakh Seized

Sahakar Nagar, 16th September 2024: Four minors have been detained by Pune Police for robbing citizens at knifepoint. Goods worth Rs 2.68 lakh have been seized from them. They had robbed a mobile phone, a bag, and cash from a man on Pune-Satara Road on 10th September. The action was conducted by the Detection Branch (DB) of Sahakar Nagar Police Station.

The four minors have been detained, and a case has been registered against them under BNS Sections 309(4) (robbery) and 3(5) (acts done by several individuals in furtherance of common intention).

According to police, on 10th September 10 at D Mart Square on Pune-Satara Road, a man was waiting for his friend after being dropped off by a traveller bus. Suddenly, four unknown individuals on a two-wheeler approached him from behind and threatened him with a knife. They stole his mobile phone, bag, and cash from his pants pocket. The man later filed a report at Sahakar Nagar Police Station.

On 15t September, during the investigation, Police Constables Mahesh Mandlik and Amit Padmale received information from a confidential source that one of the accused was near Dias Plot, Gultekdi. The police set up a trap and detained him. Upon questioning, he revealed that three other minors were involved. Based on this information, the minors were arrested in Pimpri. Items including the mobile phone, knife, and two-wheeler used in the robbery, totaling Rs 2,68,200, have been recovered.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (West) Praveen Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Smartana Patil, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Swargate Division) Nandini Paraje Vagyani.

The team, led by Senior Police Inspector Chhagan Kapase and Police Inspector (Crime) Uttam Bhajnawale, included Assistant Police Inspector Sagar Patil, Assistant Police Sub Inspector Bapu Khutwad, and Police Constables Mahesh Mandlik, Amit Padmale, Amol Pawar, Kiran Kamble, Vishal Wagh, Bajarang Pawar, Chandrakant Jadhav, Sagar Sutkar, Khandu Shinde, Yogesh Dhole, Mahesh Bhagat, and Sagar Kumbhar from the DB of Sahakar Nagar Police Station.
