Pune: Chaturshringi Police Arrest Wanted Criminal in Attempt to Murder Case

Pashan, 4th September 2024: A wanted criminal in an attempt to murder case has been arrested by the Detection Branch (DB) of Chaturshringi Police Station. The accused had been absconding ever since his case was registered. He and his accomplices had attempted to kill a man with a koyta, but the victim survived.

Chaturshringi Police have arrested Rohit, also known as Bhorya Shinde (age 21, resident of Uruli Kanchan, Pune). A case under sections 109 (attempt to murder), 324 (mischief), and 3(5) (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the BNS, as well as relevant sections of the Arms Act of 1959 and the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act of 2013, was registered against him at Yerawada Police Station. Shinde also has a history of various crimes, including extortion, violence, and serious injury.

According to police reports, while patrolling under the jurisdiction, Assistant Police Inspector Narendra Patil received information from a confidential source that Shinde, a wanted history-sheeter, had arrived in Someshwarwadi, Pashan. The DB of Chaturshringi Police set up a trap and detained Shinde. He had conspired with his accomplices to murder someone in retaliation for his deceased friend Sudhir Gawas, a notorious criminal. Although they attacked the victim with a koyta, the man survived. Shinde was caught, interrogated, and subsequently handed over to Yerawada Police Station, where further investigation is underway.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Khadki Division) Anuja Deshmane. The team, led by Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Balkotgi and Police Inspector (Crime) Yuvraj Nandre included Assistant Police Inspector Narendra Patil and Police Constables Dushing, Palande, Bhangle, Kharat, Tarange, and Kumbhar from the DB.
