Sangli, 4th September 2024: A shocking incident has come to light at Kadegaon, Sangli district where a man with a property worth crores was seen taking his daughter’s school admission falsely showing an income of less than Rs one lakh, under 25% RTE (Right To Education). The information regarding the same with all the evidence has been reportedly given to the ministers and officials of the education department for 20-22 days but still no action has been taken.

Abhijit Narayan Gorad, a resident of Upale-Mayani, Kadegaon Taluka, Sangli District; has a total property of Rs 10-15 crores. Reportedly, he also owns a clothing shop. Its annual turnover shown to the government is Rs 1.5 crores meanwhile the actual figure is said to be Rs Three crores. The annual income of sugarcane in his field is up to 15 lakhs. The cost of the shop is Rs 76 lakh, the furniture is Rs 40 lakh, and the residential bungalow is Rs 35 lakh.

According to the information received by Punekar News, Abhijit Gorad has taken the admission of his daughter from RTE with the help of a government official in the year 2021-22 to a reputed English Medium School at Kadepur, under RTE 25% online lottery quota. Proof of this is also attached.

The question is being raised if he owns a property worth crores and even owns a shop then why did he take admission of his daughter under 25% online lottery which is reserved for people with low financial background?

A few days ago, Gorad was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau while bribing a police officer, now he is out on bail. The question of how much bribe was given for the admission is also being raised.

A thorough investigation and action should be taken against Goard. Because of people like him, a needy family did not get admission in RTE, as the seat of a poor needy was reduced forever. It is requested that the government take strict action as soon as possible.
