Pune: Lawyer Arrested in Hadapsar for Kidnapping Friend’s Father Over Financial Dispute

Hadapsar, 24th August 2024: A case of a lawyer kidnapping a friend’s father over a financial dispute has come to light. A case has been registered against the lawyer at Hadapsar Police Station, and he has been arrested. The arrested individual has been identified as Nitin Mhaske, a resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. A case has also been registered against four to five accomplices involved in the incident.

The incident occurred recently in the Vegetable Market area of Hadapsar. The complainant is a retired officer from the Irrigation Department of the Maharashtra Government. He filed the complaint at Hadapsar Police Station. His son and Mhaske were friends and had financial dealings. Mhaske had been demanding money from the complainant’s son and learned that the retired officer and his son lived in Hadapsar.

On 19th August, Mhaske, along with his accomplices, abducted the complainant from the Hadapsar area. Mhaske then contacted the complainant’s son, claiming that he was owed Rs 1 Crore and demanded Rs 60 lakh for his father’s release. Afterwards, Mhaske and his accomplices released the retired officer near Waluj Police Station in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Upon returning to Pune, the complainant filed a report at Hadapsar Police Station.
