Pune, 22nd August 2024: In Pune’s Kalyani Nagar Porsche incident, it has been revealed that the minor accused’s blood samples were swapped before his medical test to protect him from a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charge. Today, the bail hearing for all the arrested accused took place, and bail was denied for each of them.

Special Judge U. M. Mudholkar delivered the decision. Builder and father of the minor accused, Vishal Agarwal, his mother Shivani Agarwal (both residents of Wadgaon Sheri), Dr. Ajay Taware, and Dr. Shrihari Halnor from Sassoon General Hospital, as well as bribe mediators Ashpak Makandar and Amar Gaikwad, are all in judicial custody at Yerawada Central Jail, with their bail denied today.

All the accused filed for bail after Pune Police submitted the charge sheet. Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hirey argued, “The accused had attempted to tamper with evidence and documents from the very first day the crime was committed. They also tried to fabricate new evidence. The court requires legal proof to make proper decisions, and this manipulation of the legal system is a serious matter that should not be taken lightly.”

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court decided to deny bail. The Agarwal family has also applied to retrieve the Porsche Taycan, the luxury car involved in the accident. This application has been made to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), and a hearing regarding this matter is scheduled for 28th August.

At the time of the accident, the minor accused was accompanied by other minor friends, who were also intoxicated. Their blood samples were also swapped at Sassoon General Hospital on the same day. Two recent arrests have been made: Aditya Avinash Sood (52, resident of Ghorpadi) and Ashish Satish Mittal (37, resident of Viman Nagar). Meanwhile, a search is underway for Arun Kumar Devnath Singh (47, resident of Viman Nagar), who has applied for anticipatory bail. Although arguments were heard today, no order was issued.
