Pune: Bibwewadi Police File Case Against Five for Abetting Suicide of a 27-Year-Old Man Over Financial Dispute

Bibwewadi, 21st August 2024: In Pune, a young man died by suicide after jumping in front of a running train due to a financial dispute. A case for abetment of suicide has been registered at Bibwewadi Police Station against five individuals. The incident took place near Khadki Railway Station.

Rushikesh Jaydev Mhasare (age 27, resident of Kondhwa Budruk) died by suicide. His father, Jaydev Ramdas Mhasare, filed a complaint at Bibwewadi Police Station. The accused have been identified as Anand Dadnaik, Balaji Bahirwal, Ganesh Bibinware, Prashant Kadam, and Vikas Kasbe.

According to police reports, Rushikesh had completed a course in pharmacology and was working at a medical store. The accused were also employed at a drug store. Rushikesh had borrowed money from them and was repaying it every month. However, his father stated in the complaint that the accused began harassing Rushikesh, leading to his depression. As a result of the constant harassment, Rushikesh left home on 1st June. His father had already filed a missing person report at Bibwewadi Police Station.

Rushikesh jumped in front of a running train at Khadki Railway Station, leading to his death by suicide. The Railway Police Force initially registered the case as an accidental death. Later, Rushikesh’s parents contacted the Railway Police and identified their son’s body. Before his death, Rushikesh had sent a message to his father, blaming the accused for his decision to take his own life. Senior Police Inspector Mangal Modhwe of Bibwewadi Police Station is currently investigating the matter further.
