Pune Police Arrest Two More Suspects in Porsche Case for Tampering with Blood Samples

Pune, 20th August 2024: Two more persons have been arrested by the Pune Police’s Crime Branch in the blood-swapping saga at Sassoon General Hospital, which was aimed at protecting the minor accused of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charge in the Kalyani Nagar Porsche accident case.

They are alleged to have assisted the minor accused’s father, builder Vishal Agarwal, in swapping the blood sample. These two individuals helped Vishal Agarwal contact Dr Ajay Taware, who was previously arrested and allegedly helped carry out the swap.

The accused have been identified as Aditya Avinash Sood (age 52) and Satish Mittal (age 36). In this blood sample evidence tampering case, the Pune Police have arrested the minor accused’s father, Vishal Surendra Agarwal; his mother, Shivani Agarwal; Dr. Ajay Taware; Dr. Shrihari Halnor; and peon Atul Ghatkamble from Sassoon General Hospital, along with Ashpak Makandar and Amar Gaikwad, who mediated bribes given to the doctors. The accused are currently in Yerawada Central Jail under judicial custody, and their bail hearing is scheduled for today.

On May 19th, in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar, a speeding Porsche driven by a minor, who was allegedly drunk, killed two young IT engineers, Ashwini Koshta and Aneesh Awadhiya. Following the incident, the minor was taken to Sassoon General Hospital for medical tests. His blood was reportedly swapped with his mother’s, along with the blood of two other minors who were with the accused. The minor’s father, Vishal Agarwal, allegedly bribed Dr Taware through intermediaries Makandar and Gaikwad, paying Rs 4 lakh. Sood and Mittal, who are said to be mutual acquaintances of Dr. Taware and Vishal Agarwal, reportedly initiated contact between them. Sood and Mittal were arrested late last night by the Pune Police’s Crime Branch and will be produced in court today.
