Viman Nagar, 18th August 2024: A female passenger bit a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer at Pune International Airport. The incident began with a dispute between two passengers over a seat on a Pune-New Delhi flight. During the altercation, the officer, who was intervening to resolve the argument, was bitten by the female passenger.

A case has been registered at Pune Airport Police Station against Surekha Singh, a resident of Wakad. CISF officer Priyanka Reddy reported the incident to the police. Singh was travelling to New Delhi on a flight earlier today and got into a dispute with fellow passengers Avantika and Aditya Borase over the flight seat number. Singh’s confrontation with the Borse duo escalated into a scuffle.

Upon learning about the situation, CISF officers Priyanka Reddy and Sonika Paal arrived to mediate the dispute. Singh then abused both officers, pushed them away, and bit Reddy’s hand. Singh has been charged with obstructing government work. The police have issued a notice to Singh under Section 35 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Sub-inspector Holkar is investigating the case under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ajay Sankeswari from the Airport Police Station.
