Raviwar Peth, 16th August 2024: Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, is on a tour of Pune today. His visit began with the inauguration of a jeweler’s shop in Raviwar Peth at 9 AM. Following this, he was urged by the public to visit the Shri Ram Mandir of the Maheshwari Samaj for darshan.

Upon reaching the temple, Pawar noticed a pile of garbage near the entrance and remarked, “There is such a magnificent, divine temple, yet the garbage is not being picked up? Cleanliness should be maintained, regardless of who is responsible.” He scolded the trustees on the sidelines, leaving them unable to respond.

Inside the temple, Pawar observed dust on the fan and other signs of poor cleanliness. Expressing his displeasure, he said, “Keep the temple premises clean; devotees flock here in large numbers. This is not acceptable.” The trustees assured him, “Dada, you have made a valid point. We will make improvements.”

As Pawar was leaving, he questioned employees of the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Solid Waste Management Department near the entrance, “When will this garbage be removed?” When the employees responded, “Dada, it is just soil,” Pawar folded his hands in front of them, prompting laughter from the onlookers.
