Unregistered Bus Found Operating on Pune’s Shastri Road Raises Concerns

Pune, 14th August 2024: A brand-new Swaraj Mazda bus was spotted operating without registration on Shastri Road, one of Pune’s busiest thoroughfares, at 6:45 PM today. The incident has sparked concerns about the lax attitude of vehicle owners towards RTO regulations and traffic discipline.
This case highlights that authorities have not taken the necessary action following previous incidents, such as the Pune Porsche case. The RTO had previously assured that dealers would not release new vehicles without completing registration formalities.

Archana Gaikwad, the newly appointed RTO of Pune, told Punekar News, “We are convening a meeting with all Pune dealers to reinforce the importance of registration formalities before vehicle release. In this particular case, RTO Pune will take necessary action.”
