Paris, 5th August 2024: Star shooter Manu Bhaker, who made history by securing two bronze medals at the Paris Games, will represent India as the flag bearer during the Olympic closing ceremony on Sunday.

Manu began India’s medal campaign by winning bronze in the individual 10m air pistol event, marking her as the first Indian woman to achieve an Olympic shooting medal. She further contributed to the medal tally by teaming up with Sarabjot Singh to secure bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.

An official from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) confirmed Manu’s selection as the flag bearer, praising her exceptional performance. Manu had previously expressed that being chosen as the flag bearer would be a great honour, despite acknowledging that there are many deserving members in the contingent.

In addition to Manu’s achievements, fellow shooter Swapnil Kushale added another bronze to India’s tally with his performance in the men’s 50m Rifle Three Positions event.
