Bhor, 4th August 2024: Due to heavy rains in the Pune district along with Bhor taluka, water has been released from the Nira Deoghar and Bhatghar dams, significantly increasing the water level of the Neera River. Today, the administration closed the bridge connecting the villages of Sangvi and Hartali (Taluka Khandala, District Satara) as water began flowing over it.

Hence, traffic on the Bhor-Pune route was halted. By this morning, the bridge was submerged under two feet of water, and the level rose rapidly due to ongoing heavy rains. Water began flowing over the bridge at 2:30 p.m.

On receiving this information, Tehsildar Sachin Patil instructed the bridge’s closure. The police and villagers from Sangvi promptly placed bamboo barriers on both sides of the bridge to block traffic.

Arun Kadam, Resident Naib Tehsildar of Bhor, said, “The bridge at Hartali has been closed for traffic as water started flowing over it. Traffic from Bhor to Pune has been diverted via Bhor-Shindewadi-Sarola-Kapurhol.”
