Pune, 4th August 2024: The discharge from the Khadakwasla, Warasgaon, and Panshet dams into the Mutha river basin is set to increase significantly today due to heavy rainfall and rising water levels in the catchment areas.

At 5:00 PM, the discharge from the Khadakwasla dam spillway will be increased from 35,002 cusecs to 45,705 cusecs. Similarly, the discharge from the Warasgaon Dam spillway has risen from 9,885 cusecs to 11,858 cusecs at 4:00 PM, with an additional 600 cusecs through the powerhouse, totaling 12,458 cusecs.

The water release adjustments are being made in response to the rapid rise in dam water levels and the ongoing heavy rainfall. Further changes to the discharge rates may be necessary depending on future rainfall and water inflow.

Safety Advisory:

All residents and visitors are urged to avoid entering the riverbed. Any materials, belongings, or animals located in the riverbed should be moved to safer areas immediately. The increased water flow poses a significant risk of flooding and swift water currents.
