Insulting Joke on Woman Costs Dearly, YouTuber Abhishek Ravi Arrested; Known for ‘Biriyani Man’ Channel
Pune, 31 July 2024: Biriyani Man Arrested: YouTuber Abhishek Ravi has been arrested by Chennai South Zone Cyber Crime Police. He runs a YouTube channel named Biriyani Man. Abhishek Ravi allegedly made derogatory remarks about women in a video on his channel. Based on a woman’s complaint, a case was registered against the YouTuber. Famous as ‘Biriyani Man,’ YouTuber Abhishek Ravi was arrested by Chennai South Zone Cyber Crime Police on Monday. He faced trouble for allegedly making derogatory remarks about women and insulting a park in Chennai in his video.
Complaint Filed by a Woman
A case was registered against the YouTuber based on a woman’s complaint. The woman stated that Ravi insulted women in the video and also insulted Semmozhi Poonga park. Notably, Ravi had posted a video titled ‘OYO vs Semmozhi Poonga’ three months ago. In the video, Ravi allegedly made indecent remarks against women and insulted the park. After watching the video, a woman from Chennai complained, claiming that she often visits the park for walks.
‘Biriyani Man’ Has 400,000 Subscribers
Following the complaint, the Cyber Crime Wing Police filed a case against Ravi under the BNS Act, IT Act, Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, and Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 1998. The Cyber Crime Wing arrested Ravi from his home. The YouTuber was presented in court on Monday and sent to judicial custody. It is noteworthy that Ravi’s channel has over 400,000 subscribers.
