Ravet, 31st July 2024: The Govind Darshan Society in Ravet has set a commendable example in environmental stewardship through its recent tree re-plantation initiative. Following severe rains that began on July 24, 2024, the society’s compound wall partially collapsed, leading to the fall of several trees adjacent to the wall.

The incident prompted society members to take action. “Seeing the fallen trees, we felt a strong sense of responsibility. We wanted to save them and decided to re-plant them in a nearby jogging park,” said a representative from the society.

The society sought assistance from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), who extended their support. Key contributors to the initiative included Ravindra Ghodke, Vasave, and Gajarmal, who facilitated the successful re-plantation of the trees at the Eco Jogging Track.

In an era where global warming is a pressing concern and tree plantation often takes a backseat, the Govind Darshan Society’s efforts highlight the importance of individual and community actions in environmental conservation.

“We are grateful to PCMC for their prompt assistance and look forward to continued support in future initiatives,” expressed the society members.
