Pune, 29th July 2024: In June 2024, more than 76,000 vehicles manufactured in India were exported to various countries, showing a significant year-on-year increase. Among the top exported models were the Volkswagen Virtus, Nissan Sunny, and Hyundai Verna. The data highlights a growing international demand for cars produced in India, with Maruti, Hyundai, and other manufacturers contributing to this surge. This report delves into the details of the exports, the companies involved, and the top-performing models.

According to recent reports, a total of 76,297 units of cars and Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) were exported from India to numerous countries in June 2024. This marks a substantial increase from the 57,616 units exported during the same period last year, indicating a 32% rise. Volkswagen Virtus led the exports with 6,349 units, followed by Nissan Sunny with 5,970 units, and Hyundai Verna with 5,416 units.

The data also revealed the lower demand for certain models. Maruti Invicto, Citroën EC3, and Mahindra XUV 400 each had only one unit exported last month. Despite these lower numbers, the overall export performance remains impressive, showcasing the global appeal of Indian-manufactured vehicles.

In addition to the top three models, the Maruti Fronx SUV secured the fourth position with 5,154 units exported. The Maruti Baleno hatchback followed closely in fifth position, with 4,645 units sent overseas.

Maruti, Hyundai, Honda, Tata, and Toyota are some of the prominent manufacturers contributing to this export growth. These companies continue to produce high-quality vehicles that meet international standards, enhancing India’s reputation in the global automotive market. The consistent increase in exports underscores the growing preference for Made in India cars worldwide.
