Pune: Panshet Dam to Release 5,080 Cusecs of Water Due to Rising Levels

Pune, 28th July 2024: Due to a rapid increase in the water level of Panshet Dam and heavy rainfall in the catchment area, a significant water discharge has been planned for today. At 1 PM, a total of 5,080 cusecs of water will be released from the dam. This includes 4,480 cusecs from the spillway and 600 cusecs through the power generation house.

 

The Khadakwasla Irrigation Department has informed the public that there may be adjustments in the discharge rate depending on the ongoing rainfall and water levels. Consequently, they have issued a precautionary advisory for all residents and visitors.

 

Safety Advisory:

 

– Avoid entering the riverbed.

– Remove any belongings or animals from the riverbed immediately.

– Inform and evacuate citizens in low-lying areas.

– Exercise caution and vigilance at all times.

 

This notice has been issued by the Executive Engineer of the Khadakwasla Irrigation Department, Pune, emphasizing the importance of adhering to these safety measures to prevent any potential hazards.
