Pune: Army Deployed to Aid Flood Relief Efforts in Ekta Nagar

Pune, 25th July 2024: In response to the severe flooding caused by relentless rainfall in Pune, the Indian Army has dispatched a rescue and relief column to the inundated area of Ekta Nagar in Anandnagar, Sinhgad Road. This deployment follows a requisition from the civil administration to provide immediate assistance to affected residents.

 

The Army’s response team includes Infantry troops, an Engineer task force, and medical personnel, all equipped with rescue boats and essential healthcare services. This well-coordinated effort aims to deliver prompt and effective support to the people in need.

 

The Southern Command of the Indian Army is closely monitoring the situation, working in collaboration with civil authorities and other government agencies. The request for Army assistance was made today, and the task force was swiftly mobilized to the impacted area.

 

The deployed column consists of approximately 95 personnel, including troops from Infantry units, an Engineer Regiment, and medical teams from military hospitals. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is also on standby to respond to any further contingencies.
