Pune: Speeding Car Hits Multiple Vehicles in Nanded City; Woman Injured
Khadakwasla, 24th July 2024: A speeding car caused a serious accident in the Nanded City area of Sinhagad Road, resulting in injuries to a woman riding a two-wheeler. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when the car, driven by Santosh Shivaji Gaikwad, lost control and collided with several vehicles.
According to reports, Gaikwad, a teacher residing in Dhayari, was driving near DC Mall when his vehicle went out of control. The car first struck a woman on a two-wheeler, who sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital. Following the initial collision, Gaikwad’s car continued to hit two or three other vehicles.
Enraged by the incident, bystanders physically assaulted Gaikwad before handing him over to the police. The Haveli police station (Pune rural police) officials arrived at the spot promptly and took Gaikwad into custody. He is set to undergo a medical examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
The injured woman was taken to the hospital immediately after the accident. The Haveli police have confirmed that Gaikwad will face legal action, pending the results of his medical examination.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the exact cause of the loss of control and to assess any additional charges that may be brought against Gaikwad.
