Pune, 24th July 2024: Counseling for NEET UG 2024, which is essential for admissions into undergraduate medical, dental, and nursing courses, is set to commence following a recent Supreme Court ruling. On July 23, the Court dismissed over 40 petitions seeking the cancellation and re-examination of the NEET UG 2024 exam, clearing the way for the counseling process to begin. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will announce the schedule for counseling related to All India Quota (AIQ) seats, while the Central AYUSH Counseling Committee (AACCC) will handle AYUSH undergraduate courses.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared over 1.3 million students successful in the NEET UG 2024 exam, qualifying them for various undergraduate programs. The MCC will oversee the counseling for AIQ seats in medical, dental, and nursing courses, while the AACCC will manage the counseling for AYUSH courses, including BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and BSMS.

As of now, the MCC has not officially released the counseling schedule. Reports suggest that the MCC is expected to announce the schedule today, July 24. Students are advised to regularly check the MCC’s official website, mcc.nic.in, for updates. For AYUSH counseling schedules, students should visit the AACCC website, aaccc.gov.in.

In a related development, the Supreme Court has directed the NTA to reissue the NEET UG 2024 results, correcting the answer for a quantum physics question to option 4. This decision is anticipated to affect the marking and ranking of approximately 400,000 students.
