Continuous Rain in Pune Causes 24 Tree Falls in 24 Hours

Pune, 24th July 2024: Continuous rain has been pouring across Pune District for the past three days, starting on Sunday. While the monsoon generally brings joy, it also has its downsides, such as power cuts and waterlogging. Additionally, incidents of tree falls have increased during this period of constant rain. In the past 24 hours, 24 tree-falling incidents have been reported.

These incidents occurred in various locations, including Aundh (near Anant Park), Erandwane (near Navnath Mitra Mandal), Maharshi Nagar, Navi Peth (near Mhatre Bridge), Shukrawar Peth, FC Road, Jambhulwadi Road, Undri, Fatima Nagar, Balewadi, Dahanu Colony, Kothrud (near Vanaz Engineers Limited), Mangaldas Road, Khadakmal Ali, Queens Garden, Gultekdi, Viman Nagar, Kalas Gaothan, Erandwane (near Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital and Research Center), Wanowrie, Bajirao Road, City Pride, Aundh (ITI Road), and Kothrud (Happy Colony).

The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Fire Brigade has reported that there are no injuries. They have also urged residents to promptly report any such incidents and to avoid standing near old trees or parking vehicles close to them.
