Activist Manoj Jarange Patil to Lead Massive Rally for Maratha Reservation in Pune on August 11th

Pune, 23rd July 2024: Activist Manoj Jarange Patil will hold a Peace Rally in Pune next month to demand Maratha Reservation. More than 25 lakh Marathas from Pune City and District are expected to participate. The rally will take place on 11th August.

On 7th July, representatives of the Maratha community held a meeting in the Chandani Chowk area where it was decided that Manoj Jarange Patil should lead a public awareness campaign about the Maratha Reservation. They also met with the Pune Police Commissioner to discuss the Peace Rally, and the route has now been finalized.

On 11th August, Jarange Patil’s rally will start from Sarasbaug Ganpati Temple at 11 AM. The route will proceed to Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military School in Shivajinagar via Bajirao Road and Appa Balwant Chowk. There, Jarange Patil will pay his respects to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and offer a floral garland.

The rally will then move towards Deccan via Jungli Maharaj (JM) Road. After honouring the statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Jarange Patil will deliver a speech at Tilak Chowk (Alka Talkies Chowk). Parking arrangements will be made on the grounds of local schools and colleges, as well as along the riverside. The Maratha Community representatives have also appealed for Marathas to bring their families to the rally.

The Maratha Community representatives stated, “In this rally, current and former corporators, MLAs, MPs, political leaders from all parties, office bearers, and activists are welcome to participate. However, they should set aside their political affiliations, symbols, and designations and join the rally as common members of the Maratha community.”
