Pune, 22nd July 2024: The South Korean automaker Kia Motors is set to introduce the facelift version of its 7-seater MPV, the Kia Carens, in the Indian market. The updated Carens, recently spotted during testing, promises several new features aimed at intensifying competition in the 7-seater Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment. Kia Carens Facelift Spotted Again During Testing

The upcoming Kia Carens Facelift, part of the 7-seater MPV segment, has been seen once more during its testing phase. According to media reports, the facelift version is expected to come with several impressive features.

Features Revealed

Reports indicate that the facelift will include newly designed headlamps and a connected light bar, with changes to both the front and rear profiles. There will be no modifications to the MPV’s side profile. The front will feature larger air vents compared to the current version, and the rear will boast a connected LED light inspired by the Sonet and Seltos models. While many features will remain the same as the current version, slight changes in seat covers and design are expected. Additionally, the facelift might offer a panoramic roof, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and a 360-degree camera.

Engine Specifications

The engine specifications are reported to remain unchanged. The facelift will continue to feature the same 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and turbo petrol engine as the current variant. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual, Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), and a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT).

Launch Timeline

Currently, the facelift version of the Kia Carens MPV is undergoing testing. While Kia Motors has not yet provided any official information regarding the launch, it is expected to be introduced in the Indian market by next year.

Competition

In the Indian market, the budget 7-seater MPV Kia Carens faces direct competition from the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Rumion. The updated features and design changes are likely to make the Kia Carens a strong contender in this segment.
