Pune, 20th July 2024: In a significant move aimed at curbing unauthorized constructions, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) undertook a decisive operation against several pubs, bars, and restaurants in Bhugaon and Bhukum areas of Mulshi Taluka, Pune District. Starting promptly at 10:00 AM on July 19, 2024, PMRDA officials initiated an eviction drive targeting six establishments: Drunk in Lake, Sandal Wood, Banyard Bistro, Rajhans Resto and Bar, T Two Bar, and Taps and Talks.

The operation saw the demolition of approximately 28,555 square feet of unauthorized structures using Poklen and JCB machines, alongside manual labor. Throughout the process, officers from PMRDA’s Unauthorized Construction Elimination Department urged the public to refrain from constructing unauthorized buildings in the area. The enforcement action was conducted under the supervision of PMRDA officials, supported by their staff and police personnel.

This action forms part of PMRDA’s ongoing survey of all pubs, bars, and restaurants across the Pune metropolitan region, with further evictions planned to address unauthorized constructions.
