Bhosari, 18th July 2024: The “Aaj Gadi Tera Bhai Chalayega” scenario took a whole different level of insanity when a drunken duo demanded to drive a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus in Pimpri Chinchwad. They abused and threatened the bus driver, hitting some citizens and vehicles on the road. This incident occurred in the Bhosari area yesterday at around 1:15 PM.

Sachin Gunaji Paradhe (44, resident of Agarkar Nagar) filed a complaint at Bhosari Police Station. The police have arrested Santosh Jadhav and Jitesh Ramesh Rathod. They are facing charges under sections 126 (wrongful restraint), 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 293 (continuance of nuisance after injunction to discontinue), 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951 and the Maharashtra Prohibition Act of 1949.

According to Police Inspector Nitin Phatangare of Bhosari Police Station, the accused, under the influence of alcohol, stopped a PMPML bus. After boarding it, they began abusing and yelling at the bus driver, Suraj Kale. They took control of the steering wheel, claiming, “We are bus drivers too, don’t teach us.” They then drove the bus recklessly, hitting some vehicles and citizens on the road.

PI Phatangare clarified that no one was injured. The complainant, Paradhe, tried to stop the duo but was abused and injured by them as they threatened him with nails.

Police Constable Titkare from Bhosari Police Station is investigating this matter further.
