Pune: Driver of IAS Officer Puja Khedkar’s Car Pays Rs 27,400 Fine at Nigdi Traffic Branch

Pune/Pimpri Chinchwad, 14th July 2024: IAS officer Puja Khedkar, based in Pune, has recently been in the national spotlight due to various controversies. These include installing a red beacon, permitted only for government vehicles, on her private Audi car, and writing “Maharashtra Government” on it. The vehicle also had over Rs 27,000 in fines. Reports indicate that the driver paid the fines yesterday at the Nigdi Traffic Branch in Pimpri Chinchwad.

 

According to reports, the car in which IAS officer Puja Khedkar was seen belonged to a private company owned by her mother’s former colleague, Manorama. The vehicle was seized by Pune Police earlier today.

 

Senior Police Inspector of Chaturshringi Traffic Branch, Shafil Pathan, confirmed that the fine, totaling Rs 27,400, was paid at the Nigdi Traffic Branch on July 12th by the vehicle’s driver. The car has since been handed over to the Chaturshringi Traffic Branch for further investigation of its documents.

 

A challan obtained by Punekar News revealed that the vehicle had more than 17 violations, including the unauthorized use of a Maharashtra Government sign and a red beacon.
