Aundh, 13th July 2024: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken cognizance of a Punekar News report about the encroachment on a public footpath by the Khedkar family.

The PMC has now issued a notice to Manorama Khedkar, the mother of probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, to remove the encroachment on the footpath within seven days, or else the PMC will take action.

Today, PMC officers pasted a copy of the notice outside their bungalow at National Housing Society, Baner Road, Aundh, where half of the footpath has been encroached upon in the name of beautification.

Two days ago, Punekar News brought the encroachment to the attention of Pune Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale and the Road Department’s Chief Engineer Aniruddha Pawaskar. Following up, the PMC issued the notice, which states:

“You have encroached on the public footpath – 60 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 2 feet high – which is obstructing the movement of people on the footpath. Remove the encroachment in seven days, or else PMC will take action.”

The notice has been issued by Deputy Engineer Makarand Wadekar and Junior Engineer Ramdas Pawar of the PMC’s Road Department.
