Harare, 8th July 2024: Shubman Gill’s Indian men’s cricket team rebounded strongly from a surprising defeat in the first T20I against Zimbabwe, securing a commanding 100-run victory over Sikandar Raza’s team in the second T20I at Harare Sports Club on Sunday (July 7). This win levelled the series 1-1, and the youthful Indian squad now aims to maintain their winning form and clinch the series in the remaining three matches on Zimbabwean soil.

Following their failure to chase down 116 runs in the first match, the Indian batsmen posted a formidable total of 234 runs in the second game, which ultimately proved more than sufficient. For the upcoming three T20Is against Zimbabwe, India will benefit from the return of three members of the T20 World Cup 2024-winning team. After celebrating their triumph with fans in Mumbai on July 4, they promptly flew to Harare.

Their inclusion bolsters India’s batting lineup but also presents a selection dilemma for team management.

Here’s a rundown of the changes in Team India for the final three T20Is against Zimbabwe:
IN: Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, wicketkeeper Sanju Samson, and all-rounder Shivam Dube make their return to the Indian squad for the last three T20Is against Zimbabwe, scheduled at Harare Sports Club on July 10, 13, and 14, respectively. These players were pivotal in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory in the West Indies and the USA last month but missed the initial two T20Is against Zimbabwe due to delayed arrival from the West Indies after winning the final against South Africa on June 29 in Barbados.

OUT: B Sai Sudharsan, who debuted in Sunday’s (July 7) second T20I but did not bat, along with KKR pacer Harshit Rana and Punjab Kings wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma, will return home. They were initially included only for the first two matches.

India’s probable XI for the third T20I against Zimbabwe: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill (C), Abhishek Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson (WK), Shivam Dube, Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar
