Pune: Lover’s Ultimatum Turns Violent in Pimpri-Chinchwad as Woman and Friend Assault Man

Chikhali, 8th July 2024: A man demanding that his lover leave her husband and live with him led to a violent confrontation in Pimpri Chinchwad. The woman, tired of the constant pressure, confided in her friend, and both subsequently attacked the man, leaving him seriously injured. This incident occurred yesterday at 1:30 PM in Jadhavwadi, Chikhali.

The injured man has been identified as Abdul Kalam Shaikh. His brother, Habib Abdula Shaikh (age 36, resident of Jadhavwadi), filed a complaint at the Chikhali Police Station. Chikhali Police have arrested Premdas Vitthal Chavan (age 28, resident of Chikhali), and a case has also been registered against Babita Lalman Yadav (age 34, resident of Chikhali) under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 109 (abetment), 115 (abetment of offense punishable with death or imprisonment for life), 351 (assault), and 352 (punishment for assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation).

According to police reports, Abdul Kalam Shaikh was having an affair with Babita Lalman Yadav. He repeatedly urged her to leave her husband and children and live with him, leading to constant arguments. Frustrated, Babita confided in her friend Premdas Vitthal Chavan. Together, they attacked Abdul Kalam with sticks and stones, attempting to kill him. Complainant Habib Shaikh, Ramzan Ali, and Hiraman Rokde tried to intervene, but Premdas threatened to kill them as well if they interfered. Abdul Kalam is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. Police have arrested Premdas, and Police Sub Inspector Mulik from Chikhali Police Station is investigating the matter further.
