Pune, 8th July 2024: The new terminal at Pune International Airport is set to open soon. With the deployment of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, the final technical processes are being completed. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Muralidhar Mohol, has announced that the new terminal will open on Sunday, 14th July, bringing significant relief to passengers.

The opening of the new terminal was delayed due to the unavailability of CISF personnel and other technical issues. This delay has caused inconvenience to passengers who were expected to benefit from the new facilities. Muralidhar Mohol, who became an MP from Pune and later took on the role of Minister of State for Civil Aviation, prioritized resolving these issues for the benefit of the citizens.

To address the personnel shortage, Minister Mohol met with Home Minister Amit Shah to expedite the deployment of additional CISF personnel. With immediate approval, CISF personnel have now been stationed at Pune Airport, allowing the next phase of technical processes to begin.

Providing further details, Minister Mohol stated, “CISF personnel have arrived at Pune Airport, and the installation of the inland baggage system in the new terminal has been completed. The ongoing technical processes are being finalized promptly, paving the way for the new terminal to become operational. The new terminal will serve Pune residents from 14th July.”

In a symbolic gesture, Mohol will issue the first boarding pass at the new terminal. The new terminal will officially become operational with the issuance of boarding passes to Air India passengers on 14th July at 1 PM.
