Pune: CID Constable Killed in Pimple Saudagar Road Accident; Case Registered With Pimpri Chinchwad Police

Pimple Saudagar, 8th July 2024: In Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, a tragic road accident involving a Crime Investigation Department (CID) constable has surfaced. The CID constable was riding his bike when an unidentified vehicle collided with him, causing serious head and facial injuries that led to his death. The incident occurred at PK Chowk in Pimple Saudagar around 9:45 PM.

The deceased constable, Sachin Vishnu Mane, aged 43 and a resident of Spine Road, Moshi, was posted in the CID. A case has been registered against the unknown driver at Sangvi Police Station.

According to police reports, Sachin Mane had gone to his sister’s home to drop off his father the previous night. On his way back through the Pimple Saudagar area, near PK Chowk on the Kokane Chowk to Nashik Phata road, an unknown vehicle collided with him, resulting in severe injuries to his face and head.

Residents present at the accident spot called for an ambulance, and Mane was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital. However, he was declared dead upon arrival. Sachin Mane joined the police force in 2003 and was initially appointed to the Motor Transport Unit of the Pune City Police Force. At the time of his death, he was working with Pune CID. Survived by his mother, father, wife, son, and daughter, his last rites will be conducted in his native village of Jejuri.

Yesterday, a similar incident occurred at Bhumkar Chowk, Wakad. A truck ran over and killed a journalist, injuring his wife. Additionally, in a hit-and-run incident involving two constables, one was killed, and the other was injured. Now, another incident has come to light where a CID officer has died.
