Pune: Fire Breaks Out at SP College Boys Hostel, Nobody Injured

Sadashiv Peth, 7th July 2024: Today morning, a fire broke out at Sir Parshurambhau College, causing a brief panic among students. The fire was reported at 6:44 AM in the boys’ hostel area, prompting an immediate response from the Pune Fire Brigade.

Upon receiving the emergency call, a fire engine was dispatched from the Janata Vasahat Fire Station. The fire was traced to a CT meter on the exterior wall of the hostel, which had caught fire and caused significant noise, alarming the residents.

Quick thinking by the college staff, who used fire extinguishers to manage the flames, helped contain the situation until the fire brigade arrived. Firefighters Sagar Devkule, Mahendra Sakpal, Umesh Shinde, Sagar Patil, and Vijay Waghmare swiftly assessed and extinguished the fire, ensuring no further damage.

Personnel from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s Parvati Division also arrived promptly, inspected the site, and initiated follow-up measures. No injuries were reported.
