Pune: 18-Year-Old Brother Kills 16-Year-Old Sister in Hadapsar, Attempts to Portray it as Suicide

Hadapsar, 23rd June 2024: In the Vaiduwadi area of Hadapsar, Pune, a shocking incident unfolded where an 18-year-old brother, Sharikh Suleman Ansari, allegedly strangled his 16-year-old sister, Safiya Suleman Ansari, to death.

According to the police, both siblings were residing with their family in Hadapsar, and Safiya had been struggling with some mental health issues. On June 17, an altercation ensued between Safiya and Sharikh, reportedly triggered by Safiya’s sudden outburst due to her illness. The confrontation escalated, leading Sharikh to strangle Safiya, resulting in her immediate death.

Sharikh allegedly hung Safiya’s body in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime. The police were alerted, and after initial investigations, Sharikh confessed to the crime. He has since been arrested, and the Hadapsar police are conducting further inquiries into this tragic incident.
