Pune: Retired Headmistress Defrauded of Rs 2 Crore in Land Scam

Swargate, 19th June 2024: Six individuals took advantage of a retired headmistress’ illness and cheated her out of Rs 2 crore by selling her land in Dhayari at a significantly reduced price. It has also been revealed that the accused threatened the woman and demanded an extortion of Rs 10 lakhs. Swargate Police have registered a case of fraud and extortion against these six individuals. The retired headmistress filed a complaint at Swargate Police Station.

The accused include Adv. Ravi Suresh Jadhav from Koregaon Park, Chandrakant Gajanan Pokle and Chintamani Ankush Pokle from Dhayari, Tarunraj Sanjeev Kusalkar and Karan Sanjeev Kusalkar from Aundh, and Abhijit (full name and address unknown), against whom a case has been registered. According to the police, the complainant resides in the Salisbury Park area and was formerly the headmistress of a prominent school in the city.

She was introduced to the accused advocate Ravi Jadhav in connection with a legal matter. Adv. Jadhav colluded with his associates and took advantage of the woman’s advanced age and illness. They misled her by falsely claiming that her land in Dhayari was of lesser value. In reality, the land was worth more than Rs 3 crore. The accused coerced the elderly woman into selling the property for just Rs 1 crore. Through their conspiracy, they cheated her out of a total of Rs 2 crore.

Additionally, on 23rd November 2023, Ravi Jadhav and Abhijit invited the woman to a Swiss cafe near her home. During the meeting, they demanded an extortion payment of Rs 10 lakh from her, as stated in the complaint filed by the senior woman. Assistant Police Inspector Rahul Kolambikar is currently investigating the case.
