Kathak Naad to Organize Deepak on June 23rd

Pune, 17 June 2024: A Kathak dance program titled ‘Deepak – A Source of Light’ has been organized by Pune’s well-known Kathak dancer Sheetal Kolwalkar’s organization Kathak Naad on Sunday 23rd June at MES Bal Shikshan Auditorium, Mayur Colony, Kothrud, Pune, from 5 pm onwards. The program is free and open to all and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Giving more information about this, Sheetal Kolwalkar elaborated, “The contribution of my parents and gurus has been crucial in my dance journey so far. All of them have always inspired and encouraged me. In memory of my father, we have been organizing the program ‘Deepak’ in his name for the last two years. Through this program, we aim to provide a platform to budding and promising artists and to encourage them.”

This year Deepak, three renowned Kathak dancers will perform in front of the audience and the people will be able to experience the three streams of Kathak dance. In this, Shruti Kulkarni, a disciple of Kathak Guru Abha Awati, will perform a solo dance followed by Sheetal Kolwalkar, a disciple of Kathak Guru Shama Bhate. The program will conclude with a solo performance by Kathak guru Manisha Sathe.
