Delhi, 13 June 2024: In response to the difficulties faced by students, the Delhi University administration has decided to issue hard copies of mark sheets. Initially, regular college students will receive their mark sheets by hand, with plans to extend this to School of Open Learning (SOL) students soon. The mark sheets will also include the student’s photograph.

From the new academic session, Delhi University students will be handed their marksheets directly. Previously, students had to download their mark sheets online after the results were announced. However, the DU administration is now shifting back to providing hard copies. These mark sheets will feature the student’s photo and the university’s anthem on the back. Earlier, DU had started issuing degrees with special security features.

The mark sheets will be based on the Credit-Based Choice System (CBCS), listing the subjects studied and grades received across all semesters. The mark sheets will be laminated on good-quality paper and will include the names of the student’s parents. Initially, the online system was introduced to save paper, but now the old system is being revived with improvements. Previously, the university had awarded degrees with several security features at the convocation, which were designed to be uncopyable.

The marksheets, however, will not include the security features of the degrees. According to Professor Ajay Arora, OSD of the Examination Department, although the mark sheets will not have the same security features as the degrees, they will be printed on high-quality paper.

He mentioned that students had been consistently requesting hard copies of their mark sheets, as there were often issues with downloading them. In response to these concerns, the university administration decided to issue hard copies. Initially, this will apply to regular college students, with plans to extend it to SOL students soon. Students have welcomed this decision. A student named Shekhar expressed his satisfaction, stating that students had been demanding hard copies due to issues with server downtimes and the non-acceptance of online copies in various places. This move will finally resolve these problems.
