Pune: Passengers Wait at Bus Stop While Buses Ignore BRT Lane
Wadgaonsheri, 10th June 2024: Commuters at the Pachwa Mail bus stop on Nagar Road, Wadgaonsheri, were left frustrated as buses bypassed the designated BRT lanes, leading to significant delays and inconvenience.
Activist Gangotri Chanda brought attention to the issue in a tweet, criticizing the mismanagement by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML).
Chanda’s tweet highlighted the ongoing problem, stating, “Use of BRT & public buses outside of BRT while we are waiting at BRT for bus. Management by @PMCPune & @PMPMLPune. Today around 7:50pm at Pachwa Mail. This is one of the ways, how the administration ruined the city which was at the top of the livability index!”
The incident has sparked a conversation about the efficiency and management of Pune’s BRT system, with many commuters echoing similar frustrations.
