Pune, 10th June 2024 – Pakistan has raised a demand to bring back Seema Haider’s children, with the National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC) writing a letter to the Foreign Office. The appeal calls for the return of Haider’s four children from India. Seema Haider, a Pakistani citizen, entered India illegally last year to marry her friend Sachin Meena from Greater Noida. Her husband, Ghulam Haider, remains in Pakistan, and the NCRC has made an urgent plea for the children’s safe return.

The NCRC’s letter to Pakistan’s Foreign Office highlights the urgency of the situation, emphasizing the need for the immediate repatriation of Seema Haider’s four children. ARY News reports that Ghulam Haider is currently in Pakistan, adding to the complexity of the case. The appeal aims to ensure the children’s safety and reunification with their father.

Seema Haider’s journey to India began through an unusual friendship with Sachin Meena, formed while playing the online game PUBG. Driven by her desire to marry Meena, Haider, 27, illegally crossed into India via Nepal in May 2023, bringing her four children along. The family settled in Greater Noida, where Haider and Meena began their life together.

The situation took a turn on July 4, 2023, when Indian authorities arrested Seema Haider for entering the country without a visa. Sachin Meena was also detained for harboring an illegal immigrant but was later released. Despite the legal challenges, Haider and Meena have continued to live together in Greater Noida.

The NCRC’s intervention underscores the ongoing international dimension of this personal saga. The commission’s letter seeks to prioritize the children’s welfare amid the legal and diplomatic complexities. The Pakistani authorities are now awaiting a response from their Indian counterparts to facilitate the children’s return and ensure their well-being.
