Chandigarh, 6th June 2024: A CISF woman constable, Kulwinder Kaur, has been suspended after actress Kangana Ranaut alleged that Kaur slapped her at Chandigarh airport. The incident took place on Thursday at 3:30 pm.

In a video, Kaur can be heard saying, “Kangana had said that people are sitting in the farmers’ movement for Rs 100-100. When she gave this statement, my mother was also sitting there.”

The altercation happened during a security check as Kangana was traveling from Chandigarh to Delhi. Following the incident, Kangana filed a complaint, and she later shared a video statement on social media. “I am safe. Today an incident happened with me at Chandigarh airport. A woman soldier at the airport started abusing me. She told that she is a supporter of the farmers’ movement. She came from the side and hit me on the face. I am safe, but my concern is about the growing extremism and terrorism in Punjab. This has to be handled somehow,” Kangana stated.

Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini commented on the incident, saying, “Action has been initiated against the accused, investigation is going on at the moment. Whatever happened was wrong.”

The CISF commandant has taken Kulwinder Kaur into custody and launched an inquiry. She has been suspended, and a team of four members has been formed to investigate the matter.

Reports suggest that Kulwinder Kaur may be honored by the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee. Her brother is the organization secretary of this committee.

The controversy stems from Kangana’s comments on the farmers’ movement. She had posted a photo of an elderly woman involved in the protests, commenting, “Hahaha, this is the same grandmother who was featured in Time magazine for being India’s powerful woman. She is available for Rs 100. Pakistani journalist has hijacked international PR for India, which is an embarrassing path. We need our people to speak internationally.”

Following these comments, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Chief Majinder Singh Sirsa sent a legal notice to Kangana, demanding an apology.

Kangana has made several statements comparing the protestors to ‘Khalistani’ terrorists. She had written on social media, “Khalistani terrorists are putting pressure on the government today, but we should not forget a woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Indira Gandhi had crushed them under her shoe. No matter how much pain they caused to this country, she crushed them like mosquitoes at the cost of her life, but did not let the country be divided. Even decades after her death, people still tremble at her name, they need a Guru like that.”

Her comments have sparked heated debates on social media, including a notable exchange with Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh. Leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal have also filed a case against Kangana for her remarks.
