Gold Worth Rs 78 Lakhs Seized From Passenger At Pune Airport

Viman Nagar, 6th June 2024: Based on profiling, one passenger arriving from Dubai by SG-52 on 05.06.2024 was intercepted. Nothing objectionable was found in his personal search or baggage examination.

“Since behaviour of passenger was very suspicious, he was asked if he has concealed anything in the aircraft. Since his answers raised suspicion further, his seat alongwith few other spots in the aircraft were seached. During the search, a packet of gold paste was found concealed in the pipe under the seat where he was sitting. After extraction 24k gold was retrieved weighing 1088.30gms valued at Rs.78,01,043”, informed Yashodhan Wanage, Commissioner of Pune Customs.
