Pune, 4th June 2024: In Pune’s Kalyani Nagar Porsche incident, a drunk minor killed two young IT engineers while speeding. The minor accused was granted bail within 15 hours and was ordered to write a 300-word essay along with other simple disciplinary actions by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).

This decision drew national attention and led to heavy criticism of the Principal Magistrate of the JJB Pune, MP Pardeshi. In light of these events, Pardeshi has been transferred. It is stated that his tenure in Pune had concluded, prompting the transfer. The Registrar General of the Bombay High Court issued the order for Pardeshi on Friday (31st May).

The Juvenile Justice Board in Pune, overseen by Principal Magistrate Pardeshi, Dr. L. N. Danawade, and K. T. Thorat, faced scrutiny following this incident. Danawade and Thorat are government-appointed non-judicial members.

The accident occurred on 19th May in the Kalyani Nagar area. The police detained the minor son of a builder in connection with the incident. After being presented before the JJB, the minor was released on bail.
