Yerwada, 1st June 2024: The minor involved in the Kalyani Nagar Porsche accident case was questioned by Crime Branch officers for two hours at the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) office in Yerwada on Saturday. Present during the questioning were the boy’s mother, Shivani Agarwal, and a Child Protection Officer. The minor, along with his mother, did not provide the police with substantial information during the investigation, giving vague and evasive answers, officials said.

The Juvenile Justice Board had instructed the police to conduct the interrogation in the presence of the minor’s parents. Consequently, the Crime Branch officers carried out the questioning at the Juvenile Justice Board office. Key questions included who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, whose blood samples were taken at Sassoon Hospital, and who all were present at the Blak and Cosie pubs. However, the minor boy was not forthcoming with details, frequently responding with “I don’t remember” and “I’m not sure.”

Sources indicate that the boy and his mother failed to provide clear answers during the questioning. This has added to the challenges faced by the police in piecing together the events leading up to the accident. Shivani Agarwal, the boy’s mother, also refrained from giving specific answers during the investigation. She is accused of giving her blood sample to be swapped with that of her son for an alcohol test.

The police have been under scrutiny in handling this case, which has drawn significant public and media attention due to the severity of the accident, where a minor allegedly under the influence caused the deaths of two young IT engineers on May 19.
