Pune citizens who pay their property taxes by May 31 receive a 5-10% discount. Due to delays in bill distribution, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) extended this deadline by 15 days, allowing discounts until June 15. The PMC’s taxation department, with 79 offices, provides this early-year discount to maximize revenue. Despite issuing 14.15 lakh bills, only 5.65 lakh citizens have paid their taxes, totalling ₹973 crores. Including new village areas, the PMC expects to exceed ₹1300 crore in collections post-discount. To facilitate payments, PMC centres will remain open on weekends and holidays, with an appeal for online payments.
