Check Traffic Diversions As Pune Municipal Corporation To Demolish and Reconstruct Sadhu Vaswani Bridge
Koregaon Park, 25th May 2024: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced plans to demolish the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge and construct a new one. However, this undertaking is expected to cause traffic disruptions in the vicinity.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rohidas Pawar has disclosed the forthcoming changes in traffic arrangements from Sunday (May 26), which will remain in effect until further notice.
Key Traffic Changes:
1. Closure of Road: The stretch between Circuit House Chowk and Blue Diamond Hotel Chowk will be closed for traffic in both directions.
2. One-Way Traffic: The route from Mahatma Gandhi Udayan Chowk to Blue Diamond Chowk to Moboj Chowk will be converted into a one-way street.
– Alternate Route: Vehicles heading from Blue Diamond Hotel Chowk towards Morodha Chowk are advised to take Mangaldas Road, turn left at Mobaj Chowk, then left again at Mangaldas Chowk, followed by a left turn at I.B. Chowk, and finally a right turn towards Circuit House, leading to Morodha Chowk.
3. One-Way Road: A one-way road will be established from Moboj Chowk to Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk (Bundgarden Road).
– Alternate Route: Vehicles traveling from Moboj Chowk to Koregaon Park will proceed straight to Sriman Chowk, then straight to M. Gandhi Udyan Chowk, turning right towards Koregaon Park via Koregaon Park Junction.
4. Road Closure: Entry from Sriman Chowk to Koregaon Park Junction via Mehta Road will be prohibited.
– Alternate Route: From Sriman Chowk, vehicles will proceed to Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk, turning right via Koregaon Park Junction.
5. Emergency One-Way Operation: The route from I.B. Chowk to Circuit House Chowk to Morodha Chowk will operate as a one-way street during emergency hours.
6. Continuation of Traffic: Traffic from Blue Diamond Chowk to South Main Road, Koregaon Park, will continue as usual.
These traffic adjustments aim to mitigate congestion and ensure smooth flow amidst the impending demolition and reconstruction of Sadhu Vaswani Bridge. Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and adhere to the revised traffic regulations for the duration of the construction project.
