Pune: One Dead, Three Injured As Car Falls Into Canal
Shindwane, 23rd May 2024: A car veered off the Uruli Kanchan – Jejuri road and plunged into the water near the new canal in the Gram Panchayat limits of Shindwane in Haveli taluka, Pune district. The incident, which occurred around 6:30 am, resulted in the loss of one life, with three others sustaining injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Amar Sahebrao Ghadge, aged 28 and a resident of Junnar. The injured individuals include Ganesh Sanjay Thorat (22), Shubham Shankar Ingole (21), both residents of Kesnand in Wagholi, and Aditya Mahadev Tavre (20) from Junnar.
All four individuals are engaged in the business of selling goats. Today morning, they embarked on a journey in a car headed towards the market in Phaltan. However, Amar lost control of the vehicle near the canal in Shindwane, causing the car to plummet into the canal.
Upon receiving word of the car crash, local residents swiftly came to the aid of the victims. With their assistance, all four individuals were rescued from the submerged vehicle. While three of them sustained minor injuries, driver Amar Ghadge succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
The Uruli Kanchan police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the exact cause and sequence of events leading to the incident.
