Pune, 20th May 2024: Sukant Kadam, a trainee at the Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA), has qualified for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, scheduled to take place in August-September. This achievement is a significant milestone in both Sukant’s athletic career and the history of NKBA.

Sukant expressed his elation upon qualifying, stating, “Qualifying for the Paris 2024 Paralympics is a dream come true for me, and I have worked incredibly hard to achieve it. However, my ultimate goal is to win a medal and make India proud. I am deeply grateful to Nikhil Kanetkar sir, Mayank Gole sir, and the entire academy for their invaluable efforts and guidance in helping me reach this milestone.”

Nikhil Kanetkar, the founder of NKBA, reflected on Sukant’s achievement, saying, “When we started NKBA in 2011, we had two big dreams: to have a player in the Top 3 in the World in Juniors and to have an Olympian from our Academy. Two years ago, Varun Kapur became World No.1 in Under-19 Boys Singles, and now Sukant Kadam has qualified for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. It is the most satisfying feeling. Sukant has been with us since 2014, and now our focus will be on training him to win a medal for India at the Paralympic Games.”

This qualification not only highlights Sukant’s dedication and hard work but also underscores the excellence and commitment of NKBA in nurturing world-class athletes. As Sukant prepares for the upcoming Paralympics, the entire academy is gearing up to provide him with the best possible training and support to achieve his ultimate goal of winning a medal for India.
