Pimpri Chinchwad, 15th May 2024: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has recently uncovered a concerning revelation, disclosing a list of 12 private primary schools operating within its jurisdiction without the requisite permission from the civic body. In response, civic officials have urgently cautioned residents against enrolling their children in any of the identified schools.

Preceding the commencement of the academic year 2024-25, the civic body meticulously surveyed over 600 educational establishments within its domain. This thorough inspection unearthed a disconcerting reality: 12 schools were found to be functioning without the explicit consent of the PCMC. Authorities promptly issued closure notices to these non-compliant institutions.

Among the identified schools are notable names such as the People Tree Education Trust in Gandhinagar, the Chaitanya English Medium School in Vishalnagar, and the Ideal English School in Jawalkarnagar. Additionally, Stardom English Medium School in Charholi, Little Star English Medium School in Chinchwadenagar, Navjeet Vidyalaya of Laxminagar, Kidzee School of Pimple Saudagar, S M School for Kids of Sangvi, Crystal Modern School of Chinchwad, Orchid International School of Chinchwad, Mount Everest English School, and DMK English School of Kasarwadi were identified as operating without proper authorization.

Sangita Bangar, the Education Officer (Administration) of PCMC, has confirmed the submission of a comprehensive report on these unauthorized schools to the State Education Department. She emphasized the critical necessity for these institutions to obtain the requisite permissions promptly, highlighting that a significant portion of the identified schools have recently commenced operations. Bangar underscored that these establishments must secure approvals from the State Education Department before admitting students.

Non-compliance with these regulations carries consequences, as per established norms. The education department will levy fines on errant schools failing to adhere to directives, and legal repercussions may ensue should they persist in operation without requisite permissions.

In light of these developments, Bangar issued a stern advisory to citizens, urging them to refrain from enrolling their children in the identified schools to prevent potential educational disruptions.

A senior official from PCMC’s education department corroborated that many of these schools have initiated the application process for permissions. However, they caution that operational clearance will only be granted if these establishments secure the necessary approvals before the commencement of the academic year 2024-25.
